Grundtvig Workshop
in and around Clervaux
Photography and storytelling workshop
Leaders: Peter Strege, Dortmund and Michael Hagedorn, Hamburg
This workshop is all about the medium of photography (digital photography) and the written word.
A collaboration with the local retirement home is planned, in which a small group of elderly people meet the workshop participants. The retirement home residents tell stories from the region, its local traditions and customs. Their stories form the starting point for the participants' research.
The research focuses on the following:
-The change in the cultural landscape
-Transformation processes in rural regions
-The importance of regional identities and customs
Participants roam and discover the region, photographing and noting their impressions. Their personal and contemporary interpretation of the relayed stories - in photography and writing - constitute the end result of the workshop.
The works will be displayed to the public in an exhibition to be held at a later date.
This project takes place in the context of the "Grundtvig Workshop - lifelong learning programme": www.anefore.lu
